14-Year-Old Girl's Brain Injury Sparks Outrage After School Police Body-Slam

14-Year-Old Black Girl Suffers Brain Injury After School Police Body-Slammed Her, Officer Not FiredA disturbing video has surfaced, showing a school resource officer body-slamming a 14-year-old girl during a fight outside West Charlotte High School in North Carolina. The incident has left the community reeling and raised questions about police accountability.

The Incident
On a typical day, May 6th, 2026, at West Charlotte High School, a fight broke out in the parking lot after school dismissal. Officer Hasun Rogers, a school resource officer, responded to the scene and attempted to control the crowd with his Taser. However, things took a turn for the worse when he body-slammed Ke'Nadie Cathey, a 14-year-old African American girl, amidst the chaos. Witnesses claim that she immediately lost consciousness and later suffered a seizure after the impact.

The Aftermath
An internal investigation was conducted months later, which led to Officer Rogers receiving a two-day unpaid suspension. Despite this, he was not terminated from his role as a school resource officer and returned to duty. The incident drew widespread attention after the video circulated online, with public opinion divided over the officer's response.

The Family's Concerns
Ke'Nadie Cathey's mother, Shakera Rorie, expressed her shock and disappointment at the level of force used by Officer Rogers. She stated that the family did not expect such a severe reaction from the officer and only learned the full extent of her daughter's injuries through medical evaluations and legal counsel. Attorney Michael Littlejohn questioned how quickly the situation escalated and raised concerns about the force used on a 14-year-old during a school disturbance.

The Call for Accountability
The incident has sparked outrage within the community, with many calling for accountability from the police department. Ke'Nadie Cathey's family has since demanded answers and is considering taking legal action against the officer and the school district.

As the investigation continues, one thing is clear: the incident at West Charlotte High School raises serious questions about police accountability and the use of force in schools. The community demands justice for Ke'Nadie Cathey and her family, and it remains to be seen what actions will be taken to prevent such incidents from happening again.
